Improv Project Reflection
This project was very fun and I enjoyed it very much. I liked how we kind of made our own play with our own lighting and sound. Not only was that we made sort of our own play, but we also got to know each other. We all got closer than we were before through our conversations. When we were working on this project, the difficult thing was coming up with ideas for different scenes. An example of this is when we had to try and come up with what me, Nimah, and Toby should do while Izzy was separated from us. We thought of huddling up, just laughing, and spinning around. The easy thing about this was when we practiced and knew what to do. This was a great project as it has made me closer to people and made me learn more about improv.
One thing that was interesting was how we all came up with good ideas and we seemed to merge them all together. Something surprising was how well our project went from just discussing an emotion to movements. One frustrating thing was how we had to put a lot of thought into the projects to make it perfect. One thing that had changed from the beginning to the end of this project was the ending of our project. At the beginning of the project, we were just going to stand there smiling with Izzy behind us but in the end, it ended up with us walking out of the scene, leaving Izzy alone.
Our group were good at hearing eachother out with everyone’s ideas and seeing if it would fit with the project. We were all understanding and we tried out everyone’s ideas. We all worked together and pieced everything together. My group was able to improvise very well such as the time when we messed up when practicing, we did another move to play it off. We also did all the motions very smoothly and spot on. We all contributed and shared what we thought we could add on to make the movements better. We all had equal leadership amongst each other and led each other with directing the ideas we had come up with.
When practicing and performing, we all listened to each other and the queues. We also worked together to accomplish our goal of creating this masterpiece through our collaboration and ideas. The whole thing of our project had worked. Everything but what to do when Izzy was pushed from the group. It took us almost two weeks to figure out what to do when Izzy was separated and even before we performed, we still were thinking of what to do. All in all, it took us many ideas to create this project and I have not been disappointed.
